Vino, Sunshine, and Scenic Views: A Perfect Day in Hunter Valley

The Hunter Valley, the largest wine region in Australia, is just a 2.5-hour drive from Sydney. As someone still getting the hang of driving on the other side of the road—and knowing I'd be sampling a fair amount of wine—we opted for a guided day tour from Sydney.

The tour started at 7AM sharp, meaning we enjoyed the bus ride with some coffee and bacon egg rolls. Throughout the day we had four stops which included lots of tastings, lunch and even some cheese boards.

I always think the wineries are serving small pours... until we hit the third stop and I realize it might be going down a little too easily. The tour was the perfect mix of picturesque, boutique wineries, along with a distillery that offered only shimmering vodka and gin—let's just say that tasting took things up a level...

Overall this trip was amazing because we didn't to worry about transport, didn't need to plan our spots and woke up the next day with a headache in our own bed instead of 2.5 hours away.
